Meltwater alternative: no annual contract, no auto-renewal
Meltwater is a media intelligence suite for PR and communications teams. Its pricing page says pricing is tailored, there is no self-serve trial, and most agreements are annual with a minimum of 12 months. Its own FAQ says an auto-renewal contract renews automatically unless cancelled at least 60 days before the end of the term.

When Meltwater is the right choice
If you run PR for a large organisation and need media databases, press coverage across news and broadcast, journalist outreach and analytics with a team behind it, Meltwater is built for that. WhatsMyRep has none of it.
When it is not enough
For a small business or a small agency the risk is the contract more than the product: a 12-month minimum, payment upfront and, on an auto-renewal contract, notice 60 days before the end. If you only need to know what buyers see when they search you, that is a lot of commitment.
Read the renewal terms before you sign
Meltwater publishes its renewal terms. Its community FAQ says that it offers auto-renewal as an opt-in when a subscription expires, that an auto-renewal contract renews for the same length at the then standard price unless cancelled at least 60 days before the end of the term, and that customers “can expect a rate increase at point of each annual renewal”.
None of that is unusual for enterprise software, but it matters for a small budget. Check whether your contract includes auto-renewal, and if it does, put the cancellation date in your calendar the day you sign.
How WhatsMyRep handles it
There is nothing to cancel. Each invoice buys 1 or 3 months at the same monthly price, paid with crypto; we never hold a card. When the paid time ends, daily checks and alerts pause and your reports stay in the account. We email you 3 days before the end and on the day it ends.
